COVID-19 Pandemic and What Peabody is Doing

By Tanks

Peabody Engineering Building

Peabody Engineering appreciates your continued confidence and support as we strive to go beyond boundaries in exceeding your expectations as a supplier/business partner. In light of the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, we at Peabody are striving to fully support President Trump in doing our part in mitigating this deadly virus by making some short term changes in the way we conduct our business.

We will remain open during our regular operating hours, but have suspended all travel and face to face meetings from today through April 6th, 2020 (for now). This may be extended based upon what we hear from the experts as we as a nation pull together to get through this potential health crisis. We also are not accepting any visitors to our facility during this period to reduce the risk of infection of our valued employees. You are important to us and we will continue to produce and ship our products to the extent we are able in the current situation. We anticipate that we may have staffing shortages due to quarantines, school closures and possible employee illnesses, but will do our best to ship your products as quickly as possible.

We realize this is a short term issue and hope to get back to “normal” as soon as possible, but we feel it’s important for our government and the private sector to work together to overcome this challenge. We appreciate your understanding, cooperation and support during this unprecedented season and stand ready to assist you in meeting your needs however we can. If you have any specific requirements, please reach out to us at your convenience. In the meantime, please join us in praying for our nation and the world in remaining calm, embracing a spirit of charity to help others in need, avoiding illness and finding a cure for this COVID-19 pandemic very soon.

On behalf of the entire team at Peabody, thanks again for your understanding and support.

The Importance of NSF 61 Certification

By Tanks

Does your drinking water storage tank meet NSF 61 requirements? Whether for operations in agriculture, vineyards, farm, fire protection, or water treatment, water safety is paramount in the production of potable water containment products. NSF 61 addresses those concerns.

Developed in 1988 by NSF International, an American product testing, inspection, and certification organization, NSF 61 establishes minimum requirements for the control of potential adverse human health effects from products that come in contact with potable drinking water or products that support the production of potable water. For manufacturers of drinking water containment products, NSF 61 is a critical certification to have. And not just for liquid containment manufacturers. NSF 61 includes all components of a drinking water system, including pipes, faucets, gaskets, coatings, meters, filers, and joining and sealing materials.

Getting certified takes some time. Material samples are analyzed for formulation, trace materials, and toxicology. Leaching tests are also performed over time to determine whether any chemicals will seep into the containers. Additionally, the certifying agency performs an audit of the manufacturing facility to confirm that the procedures and materials reflect those listed during the application process.

Since 1952, Peabody Engineering has been designing, producing, and distributing commercial storage tank solutions to customers all over the globe. As commercial/Industrial liquid containment (Tank) manufacturing leaders, we work hard to stay ahead of the demands of the industry, including standards like NSF 61.

We have designed a line of potable water and chemical tanks that are certified drinking water system components for health effects by NSF/ANSI/CAN 61.

Gemini Dual Containment® Tanks for potable water and water treatment chemicals with capacities from 40 gallons to 1300 gallons are manufactured using XLPE, and Gemini® Tanks for potable water and water treatment chemicals from 5 to 1300 gallons are manufactured with LDPE and HDPE. Both are certified by NSF 61. Offered in a variety of tank sizes in both round and square configurations, the Gemini® Tanks, with standard features like the pump mounting platform, overflow dikes, vented lid, and threaded fittings all included offer years of trouble-free and maintenance-free service.

Our ProChem® Potable Water and chemical Tank models with capacities from 5 to 1500 gallons are manufactured with LDPE or HDPE, and models from 40 to 1500 gallons are manufactured with XLPE. All are NSF 61 certified. ProChem® Potable Water and chemical Tanks include an integrally molded pump mounting platform on top and standard process fittings for fill and discharge of water. Supplied with a large vented access opening and easy to read calibration in liters and gallons, the ProChem® Potable Water and chemical Tank line offer standard features not previously available.

Peabody Engineering is committed to providing safe, quality liquid containment products for drinking water applications. Visit our website to request a quote for an NSF 61 certified potable water and chemical tank solutions today.

Thanksgiving: You’re Welcome

By General

Happy Thanksgiving 2019Thanksgiving 2019 – We Hope You Enjoy This Years Thanksgiving Letter.

Our office will be closed on Nov 28th and 29th, 2019.

Well, it’s that time of year again. Valentine’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Summer Vacation, Labor Day and Halloween are all in the rearview mirror and all that’s left of 2019 is Thanksgiving and Christmas. Arguably, the best time of the year for joy, gratitude, reflection and renewal, time with family and loved ones and plenty of yumminess to consume and imbibe.

Boxes of decorations are coming out of the storage sheds and garage rafters and homes across America are being magically transformed into amazing wonderlands of seasonal décor as moms and dads are eating the last of the fun sized Snickers bars and Butterfingers in the bottom of those old pillowcases that were overflowing with treats a few short weeks ago.

Every Year, I reflect upon what Thanksgiving in America is all about. Why we celebrate it, try to impart a little historical relevance to it and hopefully impart a perspective lost in our current culture of negativity and the vilifying of those who risked it all and sacrificed their lives to toil, hardship and overwhelming adversity to establish what has become the greatest, most benevolent, charitable and accomplished civilization in the history of the world.

Stepping back in time for a quick flyover, you will see that throughout the epochs of recorded history, there has been an underlying theme of oppression, subjugation, genocide and misery for most of the people who ever lived, UNTIL America Became a Country. If we go back as far as the Phonecians, we remember they conquered a region which is today Syria, Lebanon and Northern Israel. They are credited with developing the alphabet (phonics anyone?), shipbuilding, glass making and the production of dyes and luxury goods. Seems like some pretty amazing people. They worshipped Yamm, the god of the sea and brother of Mot, the God of Death. This is where Baal worship began and the Evil Queen Jezzebel once ruled. Part of their worship involved sacrificing human children by casting them alive into a fire. Okay, maybe they weren’t so wonderful after all.
